CRISIS AND EMERGENCY SERVICES

The Washington County 24-Hour Crisis Line - 1-877-225-3567

Telephone Crisis Services:  Provides immediate response to callers on a 24-Hour a day basis.  Provides assessment, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, crisis resolution and referral to local agencies and support groups.

Walk-In Crisis Services:  Immediate response to individuals who are in need of urgent face-to-face crisis assessment.  This service can include crisis counseling/consultation and crisis resolution.

Mobile Crisis Outreach:  Crisis consultation services are provided to individuals in the Community.  These services are targeted to address a crisis prior to the situation escalating to a critical point.  They can occur in a residence, in the community, or any location where the potential for a crisis occurs.  A face to face assessment is completed and the result is a linkage to provider agencies.

Crisis Stabilization and Diversion Unit:  This is an 8 bed facility which provided supervised crisis stabilization to adults with a behavioral health disorder who are in crisis.  The Crisis Stabilization and Diversion Unit is located at 852 Henderson Ave. Washington, PA  15301. 

Emergency Delegate Services:  This service provides 24 hour a day assistance to those individuals who require assistance with inpatient Hospitalization.

Hospital Liaison:  This service provides assistance to those individuals on the inpatient psychiatric units both within and outside of the Washington County Borders.  Thereby providing tracking, monitoring, and linking the individual to their current treatment provider or to the larger Washington County Mental Health System.

EARLY INTERVENTION (Birth to 3 Years)

When you think of your child and how he or she is growing, you notice things like how soon he or she smiles, sits up, rolls over, or how well he or she walks, talks, holds a spoon, and feeds himself or herself.

Children learn naturally during this time by watching you and other children, and by being taught how to do different things.  Because you know your child so well, you might notice that he or she is growing or developing differently than a cousin, brother or sister at that age.  What you are noticing are changes in development.

Children develop in five primary areas:

• Ability to move, see, and hear—physical development
• Ability to talk, understand, and express needs—language and speech development
• Ability to relate to others—social and emotional development
• Ability to eat, dress, and take care of oneself—self-help (or adaptive development)
• Ability to think and learn—cognitive development
